Talion revealed himself and took on the Hammer and his Uruks. The Hammer struck Ratbag with his mace but the small Uruk survived. The Hammer arrived in Udûn, asking for the warchiefs but discovered only one was left, Ratbag the Coward, who had been put in power by Talion. Talion began causing trouble in his search for the Black Hand and when he successfully helped the resistance destroy a monument of Sauron the Hammer and the other captains finally got involved. The Black Captains, including the Hammer, began to enforce the hand of Sauron throughout Mordor, installing warchiefs and invading the colonies of men throughout the land and taking them for the dark lord. They killed Talion and his family as part of a ritual to summon the spirit of Celebrimbor for Sauron but Celebrimbor instead decided to enter the body of Talion. They assaulted he Black Gate and took it for Sauron from the Gondorian rangers. He joined forces with the Tower of Sauron and the Black Hand of Sauron, forming the first Black Captains. He kept the mace and named himself the Hammer of Sauron, realising his life until that point had been wasted.Īfter the White Council defeated Sauron in Dol Guldur, he finally returned to Mordor which was something the Hammer had been waiting for for over a millennia.
After Isildur defeated Sauron during the Battle of Dagorlad, the Hammer discovered Sauron's mace and was seduced by the power of it's wielder.
Once a man of Gondor, the Hammer was alive around the time of the War of the Last Alliance and served as a stretcher bearer. He was eventually defeated and killed by the Bright Lord ( Talion and Celebrimbor). Along with the Tower of Sauron, he served under the Black Hand of Sauron. The Hammer of Sauron was one of Sauron's Black Captains in Mordor during the Third Age.
